Björk always means originality and creativity. Once more, she has not let anybody down with her eighth studio album, full of new and wonderful sounds.

Actually, this is not just an album: this is a much more complex concept, which involves not only music, but images, videos and interaction with the public. Björk got associated with Apple; the result of this synergy are special iPad-applications for each song, so we can enjoy an amazing spectacle  and interact with it. For example, the Virus app contains a videogame where we can control a cellular viral infection, but, if we succed and we get to keep the cell healthy, the music will stop because Björk wants to explain the weird love relationship between a virus and the host cells.

Björk wanted to mix nature, music and technology in this album, and that is shown in the themes of the songs, specially focused on astronomy, life and the limit of both. The natural inspiration is showed within the musical structure: Thunderbolt has arpeggios that long the same as the time difference between the thunder is seen and heard.

Every song has its own video; they are all really original and fully recommended to be watched on YouTube, even when she only appears in two of them. No one showed before the beauty within the cells, crystals or planets like Björk and her team have done. You can listen to the album using the following app:

The most remarkable aesthetics is the one showed in the Moon video; actually the orange tangled wig –that symbolizes the ideas coming out of her head as the lava comes out of a volcano– and the harp-belt were designed previously for a photo-session and then they inspired the video which finally became the symbol of the whole album.
